Family Field Trip: Klesick Family Farm Fall Festival

We just got home from the greatest family field trip.  We attended the Klesick Family Farm Fall Festival.  Several of us are subscribers of the Klesick Family Farm CSA and the farm hosts an annual festival.

It was so much fun to meet the farmer, his family, farmhands, and office staff.  We were also able to see the fields of produce, learn more about where our food comes from, and learn about organic farming practices.  I love that the Klesick family homeschools their 10 children and I suspect their family life revolves around the farm – I’m a little jealous.  As Andrea noted, they all looked so happy.

One of my favorite things was seeing some of the old-fashioned farming equipment at work.  They had a grain thresher that looked like something right out of Little House on the Prairie.  My 6 yr old daughter was particularly excited to see a real live version.

I think my toddler twins liked the dirt patch with toy tractors and dump trucks the best.  Unfortunately, our camera battery gave out after only a couple pictures.  Andrea, Emily, and Rach, cough em up – I know you took pictures.

What a great day!
